摘要: State-sponsored urbanization prevailed in the prereform China. A new track of spontaneous has emerged since 1978. However, state-sponsored continued to be an important process reform period. The Chinese pattern 1978 is distinguished by dual-track urbanization. This paper uses dualtrack approach examine Pearl River Delta Whether takes place main cities or low-order settlements been a lasting theme inquiry. issue assessed analysis relative concentration and deconcentration urban population among four groups settlements: primate city, with special economic zones, prefecture-level county-level cities/counties. Contrary previous research, it found that both are driving dispersed region.
