摘要: Objective. Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is a disease characterized by ligamentous ossification of the anterolateral side spine. The aim this study was to characterize risk factors associated with DISH. Methods. Subjects were recruited for participation in screening survey vertebral osteoporosis. cases 69 men and 62 women DISH controls spondylosis over age 50 yr. Cases matched sex. Radiographs taken according standardized protocol classified using Resnick criteria. Laboratory parameters an interviewer-administered questionnaire used obtain data about exposure. Results. mean ages populations 65.2" 8.8 65.0" 9.1 yr respectively. Compared controls, patients had greater body mass index (27.8 vs 26.0 kgum 2 , P< 0.05) higher serum level uric acid (308 288 mmolul, more likely have diabetes mellitus (19.8 9.1%, 0.05). Conclusion. clearly distinct disorder that distinguish it from other spinal degenerative diseases.
