摘要: Performance of bilingual Russian–English speakers and monolingual English during auditory processing competing lexical items was examined using eye tracking. Results revealed that both bilinguals monolinguals experienced competition from overlapping phonetically with an target item (e.g., spear speaker). However, only Russian competitor crosslinguistically spichki, for matches). treated the competitors as they did any other filler items. This difference in performance between tested exactly same sets stimuli suggests movements to a crosslinguistic are due activation language between-language rather than being artifact stimulus selection or experimental design. With majority world’s population speaking more one (Romaine, 1995), studying bilingualism multilingualism can provide valuable insights into human cognition language. The capability cognitive system successfully manage two languages is striking.
