摘要: Nakati (Solanum aethiopicum) production is labour intensive. This paper reports on the division of in this crop central Uganda. There significant between husbands and wives. Heavy duty land preparation mostly done by hired male order to do it fast when a large acreages are involved. Hired (35%) does most weeding. Women hand weeding better than men. Sowing predominantly men (50%) who claim experience females broadcasting crop. Pest control (78%). Most women can not carry knapsack sprayer often busy with household work. Fertilizer application also (56%). Harvesting family (42%), males heavy bundles from fields. Marketing (87%). Sometimes wives opt have separate plot cater for their unique needs. Generally, work but training improvement ought target both women. should be organized into groups which voluntarily joined husbands, these easily trained extensions agents. It preferable agents train farmers’ because likely relate fellow regard.
