摘要: The magnetic resonance (MR) images of 14 wrists patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) were studied. Four general findings visible regardless the cause CTS included swelling median nerve, best evaluated at level pisiform bone; flattening most reliably judged hamate level; palmar bowing flexor retinaculum, visualized and increased signal intensity nerve on T2-weighted images. Findings related to tendon sheath edema in traumatic tenosynovitis, synovial hypertrophy rheumatoid a ganglion cyst, excessive amount fat within tunnel, persistent artery, large adductor pollicis muscle. Knowledge these may permit more rational choice treatment. In four cases which symptoms persisted after surgery, valuable explaining or predicting failure incomplete incision neuritis development neuromas.
