摘要: This review article examines the current state of BOLD fMRI at a high magnetic field strength 7 Tesla. The following aspects are covered: short description contrast, spatial and temporal resolution, sensitivity, localization specificity, technical challenges as well an outlook on future developments given. It is shown that main performing strengths-namely development array coils, imaging sequences parallel reconstruction-have been solved successfully. combination these has lead to availability high-resolution protocols able cover whole brain with repetition time (TR) shorter than 3 s. structural information available from images itself already very detailed, which helps co-localize structure function. Potential applications include whole-brain connectivity analysis laminar resolution single subject examinations.
