Cloud research - Implementing scientific research information systems in open source cloud platforms

摘要: In this paper we describe how cloud architecture can be used for Scientific Research Information Systems and introduce SlapOS, the first open source operating system Distributed Cloud Computing. SlapOS is based on a grid computing daemon - called slapgrid which capable of installing any software PC instantiate number processes potentially infinite duration installed software. Slapgrid receives requests from central scheduler Master collects back accounting information each process. follows an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) model to handle at same time process allocation optimization billing. Recent research Computing has focused implementation in large Data Centers, however costs are high. Rather than centralizing resources data centers our approach propose that aggregated standard PCs hosted homes, schools, offices small centers.
