摘要: The northern Australia cattle industry is currently facing important challenges, which include increasing demand, a strong reliance on live exports, and changing climate. This paper presents strategic optimisation model to help the stakeholders determine optimal location of rest sites (known as spelling yards) flows from breeding farms ports, abattoirs saleyards, subject budget, site capacities service requirements. also considers operational guidelines that regulate maximum driving hours water deprivation times. Our contribution twofold: not only recommends yard shows an additional abattoir can increase value supply chain by over $715M, but represents step towards rationalising this chain's future operations compiling body data was previously unavailable for research analysis.
