摘要: Background: Several inflammatory hypotheses have been suggested to explain the etiopathogenesis of bipolar disorder (BD) and its different phases. Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte (PLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte (MLR) ratios proposed as potential peripheral biomarkers mood episodes. Methods: We recruited 294 patients affected by BD, which 143 were experiencing a (hypo)manic episode 151 in depressive phase. A blood sample was drawn perform complete count. NLR, PLR, MLR subsequently calculated. t-test performed evaluate differences cell counts between depressed regression model then computed. Results: Mean values neutrophils, platelets, mean platelet volume, significantly higher than individuals. Logistic showed that PLR may represent an independent predictor (hypo)mania. Conclusions: Altered indexes, particularly onset recurrence episodes with BD. As economical accessible markers inflammation, further studies should be implemented better elucidate their role BD
