Analytical and differential quadrature results for vibration analysis of damaged circular arches

摘要: The present paper focuses on in-plane linear free vibrations of circular arches, in undamaged and damaged configurations. For the model herein utilized, equations motion, terms displacements rotation, take into account shearing axial deformations rotary inertia. cracked section arch is modeled with an elastic spring. An exact analytical method solution approximate numerical one are presented. first solves fundamental system closed form, by means a characteristic polynomial; second based simple efficient differential quadrature domain decomposition technique. Natural frequencies mode shapes computed for some significant cases, showing very good agreement between two approaches.
