摘要: Backfill is commonly used in underground mines. The quality control of the backfill a key step to ensure it meets designed strength requirement. This done through sample collection from environment, followed by uniaxial compression tests obtain Uniaxial Compressive Strength (UCS) laboratory. When cylindrical cemented samples are axially loaded failure, several failure modes can be observed and mainly classified into diagonal shear axial split failure. To date, UCS obtained these two considered same with no distinction between them.
