摘要: This selective review of research on Greek-letter social organizations (Greeks, hereafter) involves a multidisciplinary stance, addressing both theoretical and applied questions. The literature bearing directly or indirectly Greeks runs the gamut from issues to practical, legal, administrative In addition, it intersects with domains in their own right, such as alcohol drug abuse, racial discrimination, political attitudes, sexual attitudes behavior. Faced this range issues, we established boundaries for review. For most part, excluded (a) popular, editorial, polemic articles which did not report research, (b) discussions legal (c) studies sponsored by national fraternal organizations, (d) program evaluation studies, (e) “intra-Greek” no Independent students. Finally, focused more recent published 1975 present, using summary information previous reviews cover earlier (e.g., Feldman Newcomb, 1969; Shaffer, 1983; Winston Saunders, 1987). Earlier however, were occasionally cited if they helped establish consistent pattern.
