摘要: To review the aromatase inhibitors with emphasis on newer agents that are being developed for treatment of metastatic breast cancer. Review English literature over past 5 years using Med-Line and Cancer-Line computer search. All pertinent articles were included this review. Source estrogen in human body means its ablation discussed inhibition. Aminoglutethimide was highlighted as prototype inhibition aromatase. other have inhibitory effect, well as, antitumor effect reference to their structure, chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics animals humans. Their respective experimental studies humans, including dose-schedules responses side effects, also reviewed. New significant activity cancer may better therapeutic index than currently available drugs.
