摘要: While the doxa of growth continues to dominate mainstream understandings what constitutes a healthy economy, concept and agenda degrowth beg for theorization about how culture power render some economic strategies more viable meaningful than others. In this article we discuss highly contested practice Faroese pilot whaling, grindadrap. Through autoethnographic methods identify analyze forces challenging deep-rooted practice, both within outside society. resistance abandon expressed in local pro-whaling narratives suggest that, struggle legitimize grindadrap as sustainable eco-friendly people are simultaneously deconstructing central tenets global food system, comparing favorably with injustices cruelties industrial procurement. sense, argue that not only locally alternative growth-dominated practices, but may also, capacity, inspire reduce engagement activities negatively impact environment perpetuate social environmental world.
