摘要: People with schizophrenia are at increased risk, as compared to the general population, acquire convictions for violent crimes and homicide. They also show elevated levels of aggressive behaviour. While psychotic symptoms explain behaviour that is common during acute episodes, they do not such other stages illness or prior onset. Three distinct phenotypes have been identified: individuals a childhood onset conduct disorder who display antisocial both before after onset; no history problems begin engaging in onsets; many years engage severe physical assault. Little known about aetiology three types offenders neural mechanisms initiate maintain these behaviours. We hypothesize preceded by associated combination genes conferring vulnerability disorders altering effects environmental factors on brain, thereby, pattern development. Some evidence available support this hypothesis. By contrast, offending among adults may result from changes brain occur onsets, further altered comorbid conditions substance misuse, progressive through adulthood use antipsychotic medications.
