Approaching the 29% limit efficiency of silicon solar cells

摘要: The so-called "limit efficiency" of a silicon solar operating at one-sun is well established approximately 29%, and laboratory cells have reached 25%. efficiencies commercially available been increasing over time, however, only recently the highest performance commercial 20% efficiency. This presentation discusses prospects how limit efficiency may be approached more closely in practical cells. Surprisingly, presently has sufficient minority carrier lifetime to achieve goal. In fact, all aspects are place for approaching 29% except existence suitable passivated contact technology.
