摘要: Objective: To identify the spatial pattern of low birth weight infants in city Taubate, Sao Paulo, Southeast Brazil. Methods: Ecological and exploratory study, developed with data acquired from Health Department regarding period January 1 st 2006 December 31 2010. Birth certificates were used to obtain weighing less than 2500g. A digital basis census tracts was applied Global Moran index (I M ) estimated. Thematic maps built for distribution weight, health centers tracts, according priority care (Moran map). The adopted statistical significance α=5% TerraView software conducted analysis. Results: There 18,915 live births during study period, 1,817 (9.6%). infants’ prevalence ranged 9.3 9.8%. total 1,185 known addresses, compatible base (65.2% infants), included. I 0.12, p<0.01; distribution, -0.07, p=0.01. map identified 11 high intervention by managers, located outskirts city.
