Pediatric Tuberculosis at Moulay Youssef University Hopsital – Morocco.

摘要: Background: There are few studies on presentations, treatment and outcomes of pediatric tuberculosis in Morocco. This study aimed to describe clinico-epidemiological profiles, laboratory findings, (TB) a tertiary care hospital Materials Methods: is prospective, descriptive undertaken children diagnosed with TB between June 2011 May 2012. Clinico-pidemiologicalprofiles, outcome patients was recorded. Statistical significance category variables evaluated. Analysis done SPSS package. Results were expressed as rates proportions. Chi square test used for statistical significance. Results: 53 aged 2 16 years (mean age 9±3.2) diagnosis enrolled our study. 33 (62%) female. Common symptoms fever, cough, chest pain, dyspnea, decreased appetite weight loss. The types were: pulmonary (32, 60%), extrapulmonary (21, 39.6%). sites (EPTB) lymph nodes (7, 13.2%), peritoneal (6, 11.3%), meningeal (4, 7.5%) osteoarticular 7.5%). 24 (45,3%) the had positive Calmette-Guerin vaccine scar, 42(79.2%) tuberculin skin test. An adult contact identified 19 (35.8%) cases. On direct microscopy, acid-fast bacilli found 3 (5.6%) cul¬ture Mycobacterium (3.7%). Drug mono- or multiresistance not detected. Conclusion: Paediatric both forms challenging diagnosis, common occurrence setting. Diagnosis based combination epidemiological clinical suspicion supported by results various investigations.
