Cross sections for charge transfer between mercury ions and other metals

摘要: Cross sections for charge transfer between several ions and metals of interest to the NASA electro propulsion program have been measured. Specifically, considered were Hg(+), Xe(+) Cs(+) Mo, Fe, Al, Ti, Ta, C. Measurements made in energy regime from 1 5,000 eV. In general, cross found be less than 10 minus 15 power sq cm most processes over total range. Exceptions are Hg(+) collision with Ti Ta. The results obtained each reaction given both graphical numerical form text. For quick reference, data at ion velocities condensed into one table summary.
