Applicability of Tedlar™ bags to aqueous sampling for ambient toxicity testing: Adsorption of trace metals

摘要: Many materials commonly used to collect and store samples for ambient toxicity testing will readily sorb and/or leach contaminants. Previous work indicates that Tedlar (polyvinylfluoride) sampling bags are largely inert toward organics. The authors report here this material is similarly Co{sup 2+}, Cu{sup Zn{sup Sb{sup 3+}, Pb{sup 2+} in neutral solution. They found no trace metal adsorption at low pH only slight (mean loss = 2.1 ppb) from 100-ppb solutions held 24 h.
