摘要: Left ventricular function was assessed by measuring sytolic time intervals in insulin-requiring diabetics with and without significant microangiopathy. The results were compared those normal controls. Significant microangiopathy defined as proteinuria over 3 g/24 h or proliferative retinopathy. also one a half years later echocardiography four patients Patients angina, previous myocardial infarction, hypertension, alcoholism excluded. All had electrocardiograms chest radiographs. Diabetics impaired left function, whereas uncomplicated diabetes function. This finding supports the existence of specific diabetic cardiomyopathy due to rather than metabolic defect. association may explain high immediate mortality incidence cardiogenic shock congestive heart failure after infarction diabetics.
