摘要: Dietary isoflavones are associated with oestrogenic and anti-oestrogenic effects, have been linked to infertility in cheetahs. This study aimed determine the isoflavone content of commercially prepared diets consumed by captive Sixteen international zoological facilities provided diets, each diet was determined acid hydrolysis HPLC quantification. Proximate nutritional composition also determined. Over half analysed contained detectable concentrations isoflavones, whereby total ranged from 1.75-183 mg/kg dry matter. The zoo-specific were calculated deliver a median dose 0.07 body weight (BW) maximum 1.95 BW On metabolic basis this equates 4.90-5.43 mg/kg(0.75). Some for hand-rearing neonatal cheetahs could expose neonates doses up 4.24 (or 4.24-6.33 mg/kg(0.75) cubs under 3 months age). Only one six found shown possess biological activity other species. Therefore, on average, dietary not predicted cause physiological changes. However, small proportion these including formulas, elevated which may influence cheetah fertility, behaviour or parameters.
