摘要: Abstract Ion adsorption on metal (hydr)oxides has been described in the literature with many different surface complexation models. In present study, five of these models were used to systematically compare their description basic charging behavior and cation phenomena using an extended data set for proton cadmium goethite. The scope limitations are discussed. None gave a completely satisfactory all data. A 1 p K model combination three electrostatic planes yielded best results. This was able describe pristine behavior, pH dependency adsorption, salt adjustable parameters; however, H/Cd exchange ratio significantly less than observed ratio.
