摘要: This report deals with 64 species of plants belonging to 42 families and 57 genera. The discussed are all used as medicine among ethnic groups in Sikkim. Important ailments purportedly cured by these epilepsy, leprosy, paralysis, asthma, typhoid, diabetes, hemorrhages during childbirth, cholera, well others. Some also food items play a significant role the rural economy. A few medicinal believed people prolong life part local tradition. Though allopathic medicines vogue, herbal practitioners do brisk business. herbals region danger economic exploitation folk commercial collectors. In order conserve important resources, management options, including cultivating plants, should be explored.
