摘要: Linear infrastructures such as railways and roads can be barriers to the movements of individuals and, hence, may have strong impacts on populations. We tested barrier effect a high-speed railway for Pyronia tithonus, butterfly species showing homing behaviour when displaced. captured, marked displaced 152 individuals in two different locations. One-third butterflies were released at capture plot, one-third other side (in similar habitat) same but 100 m away from plot. obtained recapture rates 40 23 % per location. Many (31 %) crossed railway, behaviour. Thus, contrary wide, busy roads, do not seem these butterflies. suggest that an intensive agrarian landscape, verges play substitution habitat role grassland
