摘要: The process of laminar flame extinction by a cold wall is studied because its relation to the wall-quenching phenomenon in internal combustion engine. theoretical analysis performed assuming one-dimensional transient and simple one-step chemical reaction. A series solution valid limited time domain obtained employing method inner outer expansions. results are further extended means numerical integration governing equations. It found that amount unreacted fuel near depends significantly on value Lewis number only weakly activation energy. comparison with experimental made basis several characteristic quantities defined terms steady-state burning velocity. estimated amounts quench zone thickness an engine be times lower than corresponding values. appears present idealized model gives limit for at wall.
