摘要: Transgenic manipulation of plants is now a well-established technology for crop improvement. In 1998, more than 30 million hectares land were devoted to the cultivation genetically modified crops (Moffat, 1998). While numbers are impressive, plantations presently limited only few herbaceous annual crops. However, tree species, which potentially have most gain from genetic technologies (because long breeding cycles limit their improvement through conventional breeding), relatively little progress has been made with production transgenic plants.
