摘要: The Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR), located on the Yangtze River in China, is operated for hydropower, flood control and navigation, with minimal environmental releases. This study explored potential trade-offs between better releases from TGR hydropower generation using three performance indicators. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient unimpaired flows regulated was used as an indicator of (eco rho). Energy a fraction capacity (energy fraction) power reliability were We first assessed without basic instream flow requirements (IFRs). then imposed IFR consisting minimum release k inflow maximum 1/k sensitivity reservoir to different fixed values. Finally, we allowed vary within year genetic algorithm estimate Pareto optimal In all cases, navigation rules prioritized over hydropower. With 1.0, eco rho increased 0.865 nearly 1.0 (completely natural). reduced 43.5 39.3%, or about 9.5%, decreased 97.0 59.2%. trade-off surface not only showed similar results but also indicated that energy can both be together, up point, at cost reliability. helps understand costs re-operating TGR. Limitations future directions are discussed. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
