摘要: This article analyzes John Howard Yoder's vision of the church as a polis which, through its embodiment particular practices, serves an analogical anticipation God's Kingdom, and thereby offers alternative to utilitarian agonal understandings politics. After describing ecclesiologically based politics examining prominent critiques ecclesiology, theological framework for understanding state is discussed. Placing within Pauline cosmology “principalities powers,” Yoder outlined Christian relationship marked both by subordination well occasional disobedience, disobedience which included participation in nonviolent direct action.
