摘要: It is suggested that the complete lack of validated research demonstrating productivity benefits computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools due to a number inherent difficulties in CASE evaluation process. A agenda set forth address shortfalls managers' current ability evaluate these tools. Managerial impacts are commonly associated with described, and it shown why measuring can be difficult. Additionally, some less cited raised, suggestions for areas made. The importance models development this area discussed. Three popular methodologies-experiments, field studies, surveys-are their limitations examined. >
