摘要: Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA)/cellulose composite membranes were prepared and their vapor permeation characteristics studied. Two types of EVA [having vinyl acetate contents 18% (EVA18) 40% (EVA40), respectively] used for the fabrication. Cellulose, isolated from banana waste fibers, was as filler. It observed that EVA40 composites more permeating than EVA18 composites. This observation is explained on basis amorphous nature compared to EVA18. The extent decreased with increase in cellulose content presence voids polymer designed possess controlled behavior confirmed using scanning electron microscopic images complement observations made during studies. influence molecular weight, molar size, polarity penetrants, process, also considered. permeability membrane samples calculated values obtained theoretical provided by modified Neilson equation.
