摘要: Ozet: Bu cal›flman›n amac›, iki farkl› progestagenin tek bafl›na veya GnRH ile birlikte kullan›m›n›n, difli kedilerdeki kontraseptif etkin- liini araflt›rmakt›. Cal›flma, ceflitli ›rktan ve siklusun deiflik evrelerindeki toplam 73 kedi uzerinde yap›lm›flt›r. Kediler, seksuel aktivitenin interostrus (n=35) ostrus (n=38) evrelerinde bulunanlar olmak uzere 2 ana grup alt›nda saalt›lm›flt›r. ‹nterostrus evresinde bulunan birinci gruptaki 20 kediye (Grup-1/A) 30 mg/kg proligeston (PRG) dier 15 (Grup-1/B) ise 25 mg megestrol asetat (MA) (s.c.) uygulanm›flt›r. Ostrus ikinci kedilere once 50 µg (i.m.) gonadotropin sal›n›m hormonu (GnRH) uygulanm›fl, uygulamadan 48-96 saat sonra 23 (Grup-2/A) PRG (Grup-2/B) MA verilmifltir. semptomlar›n›n ortadan kalkmas› Grup-1/A da 2.85-0.74 gun, Grup-1/B de 2.93-1.35 Grup-2/A 3.08-0.84 gun Grup-2/B 2.86-0.64 olarak saptanm›flt›r. Hormon enjeksiyonundan sakin kalma sureleri 8.00-2.20 ay, 3.33-1.01 7.57-2.35 ay 4.90-2.65 belirlenmifltir. Gruplar aras›nda bak›m›ndan elde edilen ortalama deerlerde herhangi bir farkl›l›k sap- tanamam›flt›r (Grup-1/A:Grup-1/B=p<0.83; Grup-2/A:Grup-2/B=p<0.37). ‹lac›n en uzun suresi s›ras›yla 8.0 7.57 (GnRH+PRG)'da gorulmufl bu sure gruplardaki suresine gore istatistiksel yonden onemli duzeyde bulunmufltur (Grup-1/A:Grup-1/B=p<0.0001; Grup-2/A:Grup-2/B= p<0.0038). uygulamas›n›n, kedilerin %84.2'sinde belirtilerini ilk 3 icinde sona erdirdii, yaln›z %15.8'inde belirtilerin azalmakla devam ettii Proligeston uygulanan kedilerde pyometra meme tumoru oluflumu gozlenmemifl, uygulamas›n› takiben kedide (%6.6) olgusuna rastlanm›flt›r.
