摘要: Communal nesting has been described in many rodents including some dormouse species. In this study, we report the existence of reproductive strategy garden Eliomys quercinus. Data was recorded by checking natural nests and nest-boxes from 2003 to 2013 SE Spain. Pups adults dormice found were captured marked. Overall, 198 found: 161 (81.31%) singular 37 (18.69%) communal nests. composed different combinations one up three females together with size litters. The number varied year accordance no seasonal differences observed. at least case, an adult female her daughter sharing same nest-box. hypothesis that encouraged a lack favourable sites rejected. Litters protection predators or conspecifics seems most likely explain our population.
