Amino acid profiling in plant cell cultures: an inter-laboratory comparison of CE-MS and GC-MS

摘要: A CE-MS method for metabolic profiling of amino acids was developed and used in an integrated functional genomics project to study the response Medicago truncatula liquid suspension cell cultures stress. This required analysis more than 500 root culture extracts. The profiled 20 biologically important acids. no sample derivatization prior injection minimal preparation. is described terms CE MS operational parameters, reproducibility migration times ratios, preparation, throughput, reliability. then compared with a previously published report that GC-MS same tissues. data reveal high level similarity between acid methods, thus supporting these as complementary technologies metabolomics. We conclude valid alternative targeted metabolites, such acids, possesses some significant advantages over GC-MS.
