ESR Studies of Stable Free Radical Pairs in the Diamagnetic Matrix Crystal

摘要: The radical pair system of a stable free radical, di-p-anisyl-nitric-oxide (DANO), has been observed in the magnetically-diluted crystal 4,4-dimethoxy-benzophenone. existence ascertained by characteristic ESR absorptions, which give rise to zero-field splitting and half-field resonance, powdered sample as well comparison magnitude hyperfine coupling constant isolated with that system. precise measurements were performed using single containing 7.5% DANO radicals oriented diamagnetic matrix. fine structure parameters, |D| |E|, have determined be 186 Gauss 2 respectively, from distance between two molecules is estimated 5.4 A. In order deduce structures pair, g-value also determined.
