摘要: Objective Fetal scalp blood sampling is a widely used method for assessing fetal condition in the event of ominous heart rate patterns. The purpose this randomised trial was to compare value lactate and pH management cases abnormal intrapartum tracings. Methods Of 341 patterns, 169 were randomly assigned analysis, 172 measurements. Lactate measured using card requiring 5 μL yielding result within 60 seconds. analysis performed with an ABL 510 acid-base analyser 35 results 47 seconds. Results Unsuccessful procedures (no or unreliable result) occurred significantly more often subgroup than (OR 16.1 95% CI 5.8-44.7). In failure inversely related degree cervical dilatation. Compared subgroup, characterised by fewer incisions per attempt (median 1.0 [interquartile range (IQR) 1-11 vs 2.0 [IQR 1-21]), less time required procedure 120 s 90-147] 230 180-3001). groups did not differ mode delivery, neonatal outcome umbilical artery acid–base balance levels. Conclusion This showed levels be comparable predicting perinatal outcome, but measuring successful that pH. Owing its simplicity performance, attractive alternative monitoring.
