摘要: Abstract We interviewed 274 women aged 40–65, with breast cancer diagnosed in 1976–1977 Los Angeles County, to learn more about factors which might affect surgical stage at diagnosis. Of the cases, 166 had localized disease diagnosis and 108 regional disease. Women who discovered their lesions during course of self-exam (BSE) showed no advantage over accidentally; and, those practiced BSE routinely did not practice BSE. Delay seeking medical care was strongly associated risk must be considered when evaluating self-screening. The factor most delay type initial symptom: a lump being less likely than another symptom (median 7 vs 31 days).
