Effects of a low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet on power lifting performance and body composition

摘要: The aim of the study was to investigate a low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet (LCKD) as an effective strategy decrease overall weight and fat mass, preserve lean body mass (LBM) without compromising performance in trained, male powerlifters. This six-week randomized controlled trial, with LCKD intervention group normal control group. instructed consume total calories less than 7% carbohydrates, 50% fat, 45% protein, while (CON) maintained ad libitum diet. Both groups completed same validated training protocol during intervention. CON had significant increases (p < 0.05) onerepetition maximums for bench press, back squat, deadlift, increase deadlift = 0.000) maintenance press squat performance.
