Predictors of sleepiness in epilepsy patients.

摘要: Sleepiness, a common complaint of epilepsy patients, is frequently attributed to antiepileptic medications. To determine predictors subjective sleepiness in we gave self-administered, validated surveys [Epworth scale (our major outcome measure)] and sleep apnea [sleep the disorders questionnaire (SA/SDQ)] 158 patients 68 neurology without (controls). An elevated Epworth score (>10) was more likely compared controls after controlling for age gender (p 0.10) score. Before attributing medications or uncontrolled seizures, clinicians should consider possibility coexisting disorder.
