摘要: Coastal zones are not only some of the most populous areas planet, but also hazardous, facing a wide range hazards alongside environmental degradation and increasing development pressures. The inter-connectivity coastal systems, both human physical, provides particular challenges to risk management, especially in context complex governance regimes such areas, where contrasting land marine institutions policies come together. After brief overview traditional approaches chapter focuses on role potential integrated planning management facilitating more balanced sustainable approach management. Within discussions value Integrated Zone Management (ICZM) other spatial is explored. ICZM has frequently been endorsed as means managing competing resources ‘wicked’ (multi-dimensional) problems, so potentially valuable play. Drawing examples, particularly from European experiences, evaluates extent which contributes Whilst panacea, concludes that may be able facilitate adaptable palatable for local communities, much needed climate change impacts.
