摘要: Core to the planning–implementation gap in conservation is failure achieve necessary shared vision and collaboration among typically diverse stakeholder groups translate assessments plans into sustained on-ground outcomes for conservation. We suggest that a process of describing sharing mental models—the cognitive frameworks people use interpret understand world—provides promising as yet underutilized techniques planners improve implementation success. The processes associated with models concept have been applied variety fields including business organization science, risk analysis, education, natural resource management, climate change adaptation. Our review illustrates their application can strengthen success planning by: (1) contributing clear open communication between stakeholders; (2) aiding overcoming obstacles incorporating multiple sources knowledge; (3) enabling ownership plan; (4) improving social assessments. Techniques explicitly communicate contribute each phase process—assessment, planning, review. Conservation much gain by eliciting processes.
