摘要: Addiction is a chronic relapsing illness with onset typically occurring in the early teenage years, followed by cycles of drug use and abstinence. The disease mitigated complex interactions between genes environment. Viewed as such, treatment addiction could span whole lifetime patient and, ideally, should be tailored to cycle. search for effective treatments has intensified recently due our better understanding underlying neurobiologic mechanisms contributing relapse. three main types are behavioral, pharmacologic more recently, immunologic therapies. Vaccines monoclonal antibodies being developed mainly stimulant disorders nicotine addiction. In addition, new molecular targets identified preclinical research have shown promise awaiting proof-of-concept studies humans. focus this review on development immunotherapy stimulants model highlighting current status science potential emerging discoveries development.
