摘要: Lake Malaren, located in eastern Sweden, supplies water for drinking use to more than two million people Stockholm and the surroundings. Water quality is generally rather good; although concern has been raised last years due observed increasing trends both color dissolved organic carbon (DOC) other surface waters Scandinavia. This may eventually occur Malaren. DOC can carry along contaminants toxic compounds affecting functioning of treatment plants. A better understanding dynamics within catchment essential. requires an investigation spatial temporal patterns quantity. The main aim this project produce basic knowledge that will be useful predict quantity structured two parts: (1) areal mass transport fluxes total (TOC) catchment, (2) simulation concentrations Fyrisan subcatchment using HBV INCA-C models. TOC show similar with some differences. Catchments lower open proportion present browner retention times. exports are well correlated discharge suggesting concentration controlled by flow. However, there a risk after peaks runoff, which related wet years. reproduces intra- interannual variation Fyrisan, however, model fails capture high peaks. Further studies, needed order understand new and develop these trends. Once studies based on report carried out successfully could used concentrations future.
