摘要: Caffeine metabolism is known to be accelerated in cigarette smokers, but the effects of smoking on kinetics and pattern a daily consumption have not been described. We investigated tobacco abstinence rate caffeine nine habitual smokers who consumed six cups coffee per day, each cup containing 2 mg/kg caffeine. Abstinence from for 4 days resulted 46% increase 24-hour AUC. Thus, significant, although probably complete, normalization enzyme-inducing can seen after abstinence. During abstinence, urine ratios dimethylxanthines mono-dimethylxanthines were reduced, suggesting that accelerates both demethylation steps. Other metabolic pathways unaffected.
