摘要: Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and its earlier nosologic classifications have been extensively investigated since the 1960s, with PubMed listings alone exceeding 13,000 entries. Strides made in diagnosis treatment of ADHD individuals intellectual function normal range, as described companion reviews this special issue. In contrast, comparatively little is known about developmental disabilities (IDD) despite possibility that statistically overrepresented among IDD (Pearson et al. 1997 Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder mental retardation: nature attention deficits. Here, we provide a review diagnostic controversies IDD, discuss several topics are currently attracting research efforts field. These include behavioral phenotyping attempts to come grips problems etiological heterogeneity. Additionally, consider issues relating methodologically sound assessment disorders evidence-based intervention procedures may clarify and/or ameliorate deficits IDD.
