摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the recent information obtained on such features of insect viruses as disease pathology, morphology, physical and antigenic characteristics, properties their proteins nucleic acids. Emphasis is given to analytical methods that may be most useful for virus identification studying baculoviruses because potential development viral pesticides. There insufficient data suggest techniques choice identifying entomopoxviruses but with other large DNA viruses, baculoviruses, a range should used distinguish different isolates. Particularly are analysis structural polypeptides by gel electrophoresis, serological analyses, restriction endonuclease fragments. latter technique well prove especially valuable precise relationships between strains baculoviruses. Homology studies also relevant, more time consuming. Analysis genome segments t cytoplasmic polyhedrosis viruses. With iridoviruses electrophoretic appear than analyses genome.
