A calculation of the annihilation characteristics of positrons trapped at metal surfaces

摘要: A positron trapped at a simple metal surface is treated within the jellium model. The lifetime and angular correlation (ACAR) spectrum for state are calculated compared with recent measurements. Results good but anisotropy of ACAR spectra larger than that observed. It suggested defect trapping may be responsible isotropy experimental data. obtained in Independent Particle Model (IPM) Mixed Density Approximation (MDA) close agreement, supporting use MDA future calculations. shown to insensitive selvedge width electron density affected by an attempt represent screening through shift image plane potential.
