ESTER HYDRAZONES AS POSSIBLE PRECURSORS TO ALKOXYDIAZOALKANES: I. THE SYNTHESIS OF ESTER (p-TOLYLSULFONYL)HYDRAZONES AND THEIR DECOMPOSITION IN PROTIC SOLVENTS TO GIVE MIXED ACETALS

摘要: Methyl benzoate (p-tolylsulfonyl)hydrazone (I) was prepared from the reaction between (p-tolylsulfony1)hydrazide and either methyl benzimidate hydrochloride or orthobenzoate. When potassium sodium salt of this hydrazone deconlposed, ther~nally photochemically, in presence alcohols, benzaldehyde mixed acetals could be isolated good yields high purity. decomposition carried out piperidine, there produced 1-(a-methoxybenzy1)piperidine (11) a,a-dipiperidinotoluene (111). The products can explained by assuming initial formation pher~ylmethoxydiazomethane.
