摘要: Cellulose is a biopolymer of considerable economic importance. It synthesised by the cellulose synthase complex (CSC) in species ranging from bacteria to higher plants. Enormous progress our understanding bacterial synthesis has come with recent publication both crystal structure and biochemical characterisation purified able vitro. A model plant CESA protein suggests similarity between synthesis. In this review article we will cover current knowledge how proteins synthesise cellulose. particular focus be on lessons learned work catalytic mechanism implications that new data for assembly into large microfibrils.
