Preliminary results of seismogeochemical research in China

摘要: Several kinds of geochemical anomaly before strong earthquakes have been observed in China since 1966. They include changes groundwater radon levels, ion content water (Ca+2, Mg+2, Cl−, SO4−2, F−), dissolved gases (H2, CO2), and escaping from the aeration zone through abandoned dry wells (Ar, N2, CO2). The anomalies may be grouped as long-term short-term anomalies. Most are characterized by a pattern increase. largest amplitude recorded was 37 times base level. Preliminary study indicates that types seismogeochemical prior to depend on tectonic, geologic, lithologic, hydrogeological conditions at monitoring station.
